Mole Hall Wildlife Park was first opened to the public in 1963 and now covers over 20 acres of grounds and gardens, which surround the original moated manor house (private), which dates from 1287. The collection of animals and birds contains many exotic species including otters, flamingos, sarus cranes, primates (including chimpanzees), owls, birds, guanacos, wallabies, a beautiful tropical Butterfly Pavilion and much more.

The Butterfly Pavilion

On entering the butterfly house you are immediately engulfed by vibrantly coloured butterflies such as the Postman and the amazing Glass wing, which flit about this jungle like area.

Also in the pavilion you will come across a variety of snakes, spiders and insects (all safe behind glass). Small monkeys, lovebirds and finches, aquatic life such as goldfish, toads and terrapins can also be seen in the small pools.

The deer, ponies, pets corner animals and ducks love to be fed with the special food bought here. This is easy on your pocket and a good dietary source for the animals and birds as well as a wonderful experience all round!

Mole Hall also has a water maze that is open between march and october.  This exciting concept involves the intrepid explorer negotiating various paths. If you choose the wrong path, a hidden sprinkler will give you, or possibly your partner, a touch of "water on the brain".

Picnic area and café.
